Reiki Treatments
The word “Reiki” means “mysterious atmosphere, miraculous sign.” It comes from the Japanese words “rei,” meaning universal, and “ki,” meaning life energy.
Reiki is a type of energy healing. According to the philosophy behind it, energy can stagnate in the body where there has been physical injury or even emotional pain. In time, these energy blocks can cause illness.
Energy medicine aims to help the flow of energy and remove blocks in a similar way to acupuncture or acupressure. Reiki practitioners believe that improving the flow of energy around the body can enable relaxation, relieve pain, speed healing, and reduce other symptoms of illness.
Mikao Usui developed Usui Reiki Ryoho, the most current form of Reiki in 1922.
However, people have practiced Reiki for about 2,500 years.

People also refer to Reiki as palm healing or hands-on healing.
Martina will typically give Reiki treatment in a peaceful, private setting where the client will sit in a comfortable chair or lie on a table, fully clothed.
She will then place their hands lightly on or over specific areas of the client’s head, limbs, torso and all around the body.
Clients state that while the practitioner holds their hands lightly on or over the body, an energy transfer takes place.
Reiki has been used for:
- Relaxation
- Centering
- Clearing
- Balancing energies
- Emotional support
- Relieve physical discomfort
DISTANCE REIKI healing sessions are also available:
The distance symbol is used to cross any distance in time or space. It allows Martina to clear blockages from the client’s past, as well as perform reiki on a client who is not physically present.
Distance Reiki works according to an ancient principle called the Hermetic Law of Similarity, which holds that we are all connected, as we are all made of energy and part of a larger whole. Invoking this law during a distance Reiki session allows Martina to link up to the energy field of the recipient.
Regardless of distance, Reiki can have benefits such as increasing feelings of happiness, empowerment and ease.
- Each session runs approximately from 45 min to 60 min.
Disclaimer: Reiki is a complementary healing art that works well alone as well as in concert with other treatments. Healing is often the result of gentle shifts in awareness, release of emotional patterns, achievement of new understanding, and daily practice. Reiki is not a replacement for traditional medical treatment.
